Tim qualified at Bristol University in 1996 and joined Barker Dental Care in 1998, becoming practice owner in March 2007. Tim has attended numerous post-graduate courses on a variety of topics including endodontics, implant restorations, Fastbraces orthodontics, Invisalign orthodontics, Inman Aligner orthodontics, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ/TMD), and restorative and cosmetic dentistry. In particular, he has attended residential courses at the world famous Pankey Institute in Miami, as well as the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Tim completed a year-long course on advanced aesthetic and restorative dentistry with Dr. Basil Mizrahi who is a specialist in prosthodontics and restorative dentistry in Harley Street, London and one of the country’s leading experts in his field. Tim has also completed several courses with Dr. Finlay Sutton who is also a specialist prosthodontist and a well-known expert in the field of dentures. Tim has been able to utilise the knowledge from these courses to produce state-of-the-art dentures that are not only comfortable but also look natural, greatly improving a patient’s quality of life. Tim has been a member of the Newbury Dental Study group for over 20 years and attends monthly lectures from a variety of experts in the dental field.

Tim loves learning about dentistry and honing his dental skills. He continually builds on his dental knowledge and skill-base with new courses, techniques, equipment, and materials.

Tim has a wonderfully patient and caring manner which, combined with his many years of experience and knowledge, provides his patients with exceptional dental care.

When not working, Tim enjoys running, travelling, and walking/hiking particularly in the Lake District.


Dr Nicholas ForsterDr Nicholas Forster – Partner BDS LDS RCS

Nick Forster qualified as a dentist from Guys Hospital in 1983 and has worked in dentistry for over 35 years. He has built an impressive career in dentistry, combining clinical expertise with strategic leadership. As chair of the Local Dental Network Wessex and a director of The Dental Management Partners Limited, he has played a key role in shaping dental practices across Hampshire. His dedication to mentoring and fostering long-term business growth centred on quality dentistry reflects a commitment to both professional excellence and sustainable success.

He has three children and is a keen mountaineer, hiker, and golfer in his spare time.


SimonDr Simon Chaplin-Rogers – Partner LDS Royal College of Surgeons of England, BDS (Hons) Lond 1984, Cert Dent Ed. FRSPH

Simon has built an impressive career bridging both dentistry and medicine. As a senior partner at Park Surgery medical practice and a former owner of three dental practices, his experience in both fields gives him a unique perspective on patient care. His role as a dental trainer and active member of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Dental Committee highlights his commitment to mentoring and shaping the profession.

A significant aspect of his career has been helping struggling practices and supporting practitioners—a testament to his leadership and problem-solving abilities. His expertise spans a wide clinical base, with a special interest in sedation dentistry, an invaluable skill for easing patient anxiety and improving access to care.

Beyond his professional life, Simon is an avid sailor and rugby enthusiast.


timDr. Laura Sharpe BDS University of Bristol 2016

Laura qualified at Bristol University in 2016, and has since remained committed to growing her experience and skills in order to provide patients with the best possible care. She is a member of a number of dental organisations, including having completed the examinations necessary to becoming a dental member of the Royal College of Surgeons. Laura undertakes regular training courses to further her knowledge of modern techniques, most recently having completed a course at the UK International Bioclear Learning Centre to become a Level 1 and Level 3 Certified Bioclear Practitioner.

Laura is particularly passionate about creating a calm and caring environment in which her patients can feel at ease during their dental treatment. She enjoys empowering patients with the knowledge to improve and maintain their oral health.

Outside of dentistry, Laura enjoys all kinds of sports, from running to rock climbing!


piriDr. Piri Pusparajah DMD Plovdiv Medical University, Bulgaria, 2021

Piri was brought up in Aylesbury before studying at the Queen Mary University London where he attained a degree in Biomedical Science. After graduating he decided to pursue his love of dentistry, choosing to study in Bulgaria at Plovdiv Medical University in 2015. After graduating with a Master of Dental Medicine in 2021, Piri began working in private practice in the UK.

Piri has a particular interest in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry but is very experienced in all aspects of dental care. He has a calming and easy-going nature which helps to put his patients at ease.

Outside of work Piri has a keen interest in football and enjoys cooking, reading, travelling and speaks 4 different languages.


Wendy HigsonWendy Higson Hygienist

GDC No. 4077

Wendy qualified as a Dental Hygienist from The Royal London Dental Hospital in 1991. She has gained experience by working in various settings such as the Community Dental Service, the NHS and more recently in a private practice.

Her hobbies include sailing, walking and gardening whilst supporting her husband and two children.


John MurrayJohn Murray Hygienist

I trained in Dental Hygiene at the Royal Army Dental Corps Training Centre in Aldershot, qualifying in 1985 with the CEB Certificate in Dental Hygiene. In 1996 I was awarded the Diploma in Dental Hygiene. I worked as a Dental Hygienist in the Armed Forces in a variety of Dental Centres and Military Hospitals around the world.

I retired from the Army whilst working in the Maxillofacial department of Haslar Hospital in Gosport in 2001. I have since worked in General Practice in the Fareham and Gosport area.

I am currently the Secretary of the British Society of Dental Hygienists and Therapists Southern Region.


Nicole FreireNicole Freire Dental Nurse

Nicole has been Dental nursing for 14 years. She has been fortunate to work in private practices since qualifying.

Nicole enjoys nursing for a range of treatments, but especially treatments like implants and orthodontics.

In her spare time, Nicole like to go to the gym, where she weight trains and does yoga. She also enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog and eating the occasional cake!

Nicole joined Barker Dental Care in 2017, and has been a dental nurse for 12 years, qualifying in 2013.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Nicole has a passion for gardening with her husband, growing their own fruit and vegetables!


Charlotte MitchellCharlotte Mitchell Trainee Dental Nurse

Charlotte joined Barker Dental Care in November 2023. This is Charlotte’s second practice that she has worked at whilst pursuing her dental nurse career.

Charlotte is due to complete her Dental Nursing Qualification at the end of 2024.

In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys socialising with her friends and going to the gym.


Fiona BevisFiona Bevis Head Receptionist

Fiona has been Head Receptionist, and dental nursing for 44 years.

Joining Barker Dental Care in 1997, Fiona enjoys taking care of all patients.

In her spare time, Fiona’s passion is singing – Belonging to a local ladies choir called “The Solent Singers”.

Fiona also enjoys cooking, swimming and walking.


KarenKaren Dental Receptionist

Karen has been a dental receptionist for 16 years, joining Barker Dental Care 8 years ago.

In that time, Karen has got to know a lot of patients, building up a great rapport with them.

In her spare time, Karen enjoys gardening, and spending time with her granddaughter.

Catherine graduated with first-class honours in Dental Therapy and Hygiene from King’s College London, followed by an additional year of advanced training. She brings valuable experience from both NHS and private practices.

With a gentle touch and her attention to detail, Catherine offers a range of services, including meticulous hygiene treatments, fillings, and professional tooth whitening. She prioritizes patient comfort, is friendly and compassionate, making her an invaluable member of our team, committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
