Dr. Audrey Adamson

With over 20 years of experience in private dental practice, Audrey is known for her clinical expertise, calm and compassionate approach, and unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding care.
Originally from County Mayo in the west of Ireland, Audrey comes from a proud lineage of dentists, following in the footsteps of her grandfather, father, uncle, and older sister. She qualified from the University of Wales, College of Medicine in Cardiff in 2004, earning the prestigious Dental School Alumni Prize for her outstanding contribution. Since then, she has refined her skills in leading private practices across Dublin and Hampshire.
Audrey’s approach to dentistry is built on trust, personal connection, and clinical excellence. Whether you’re visiting for a routine check-up, cosmetic enhancement, or advanced treatment, she takes the time to understand your needs and craft a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your individual goals.
She offers a full range of cosmetic dental treatments, including teeth whitening, cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers, crowns, and Invisalign clear aligners. Her Smile Design philosophy focuses on achieving natural, confident smiles, enhancing the shape, shade, and alignment of teeth while also prioritizing gum health and overall aesthetics.
Beyond her clinical work, Audrey has shared her expertise as a guest speaker at international dental conferences, including the Association for Dental Education in Europe and the Operation Smile Leadership Conference, where she has helped shape conversations on modern dental care.
Outside of dentistry, Audrey is an avid sailor, a passion that began in childhood while exploring the islands of Clew Bay with her family. Her love of the sea has led her to race and cruise in offshore events, including the Fastnet Race and Round Ireland Yacht Race, and she was part of the winning team at the Swan Worlds in 2008. In 2012, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by circumnavigating the world as First Mate aboard Formula 1® mogul Eddie Jordan’s Oyster 885 yacht.
Now settled in Warsash with her husband, Paul, and their two children, Audrey is delighted to bring her wealth of experience and patient-first approach to the local community through Barker Dental.

Nick has worked in dentistry for over 35 years. He is currently Chair of the Wessex Local Dental Network (LDN) as well as a GDPC member with NHS England.
Nick has been a Senior Partner at St James Dental Clinic in Winchester since 1986. St. James Dental Clinic was an urgent hub during the Covid pandemic and continues to be the largest independent provider of NHS dental healthcare in Hampshire.
Nick is known for his professionalism, ethics and support of fellow clinicians in ensuring patients receive successful outcomes. He enjoys the mentoring process and takes pride in building long-term businesses based around the core delivery of quality dentistry.
Nick has three grown-up children and is a keen mountaineer, and hiker in his spare time.
Dr Simon Chaplin-Rogers – Senior Clinical Lead

Simon graduated with honours from University College Hospital London in 1978 and qualified as a Licentiate in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1979.
The first period of his career was spent in the department of Maxillo Facial Surgery at University College Hospital London. He elected to return to medical school qualifying as a doctor in 1984. Then followed 5 years of medical rotations in London Hospitals.
His special interest both as a tutor and in practice, is sedation dentistry and taking care of the very nervous patients. Simon was for 25 years a Senior Partner at Park Surgery medical practice in Chandler’s Ford, an NHS medical practice that had almost 17,000 patients.
Simon has been involved in several dental practice partnerships, worked as a dental trainer and plays an active part of LDC Hampshire having previously been a chair. Simon is also a member of the board of SAAD, the institution for sedation dentistry in the UK.
Simon’s career has been built on helping practitioners in struggling practices and teaching dentists and medics alike.
Simon has a wide clinical base of knowledge with a special interest in sedation dentistry.
Away from work, Simon is a keen sailor, rugby enthusiast and spends time enjoying time with his family.
Dr. Hannah Mawer BDS (Hons) PgCert Endo

Hannah is a compassionate and skilled dentist dedicated to providing gentle, high-quality care tailored to each patient’s needs. She graduated with honours from Cardiff University in 2019 and has since built her expertise as a general dentist in Oxfordshire.
Committed to continuous learning, Hannah has pursued extensive professional development to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry. Her passion for Endodontics (root canal treatments) led her to earn a postgraduate certificate in Endodontics, and she is currently advancing her expertise through a master’s degree in clinical Endodontics at the College of Medicine and Dentistry.
Hannah enjoys building trust with patients of all ages, ensuring their oral health needs are met with expertise and empathy. She takes pride in creating a relaxed, comfortable environment where patients feel reassured and confident in their care.
Outside of dentistry, Hannah loves exploring the countryside with her Black Labrador, Moose. She also enjoys painting, singing, and playing the guitar, finding creative expression in both her work and her hobbies.
Dr. Piri Pusparajah DMD Plovdiv Medical University, Bulgaria, 2021

Piri was brought up in Aylesbury before studying at the Queen Mary University London where he attained a degree in Biomedical Science. After graduating he decided to pursue his love of dentistry, choosing to study in Bulgaria at Plovdiv Medical University in 2015. After graduating with a Master of Dental Medicine in 2021, Piri began working in private practice in the UK.
Piri has a particular interest in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry but is very experienced in all aspects of dental care. He has a calming and easy-going nature which helps to put his patients at ease.
Outside of work Piri has a keen interest in football and enjoys cooking, reading, travelling and speaks 4 different languages.
Wendy Higson Hygienist

Wendy qualified as a Dental Hygienist from The Royal London Dental Hospital in 1991. She has gained experience by working in various settings such as the Community Dental Service, the NHS and more recently in a private practice.
Her hobbies include sailing, walking and gardening whilst supporting her husband and two children.
John Murray Hygienist

I trained in Dental Hygiene at the Royal Army Dental Corps Training Centre in Aldershot, qualifying in 1985 with the CEB Certificate in Dental Hygiene. In 1996 I was awarded the Diploma in Dental Hygiene. I worked as a Dental Hygienist in the Armed Forces in a variety of Dental Centres and Military Hospitals around the world.
I retired from the Army whilst working in the Maxillofacial department of Haslar Hospital in Gosport in 2001. I have since worked in General Practice in the Fareham and Gosport area.
I am currently the Secretary of the British Society of Dental Hygienists and Therapists Southern Region.
Nicole Freire Dental Nurse

Nicole has been Dental nursing for 14 years. She has been fortunate to work in private practices since qualifying.
Nicole enjoys nursing for a range of treatments, but especially treatments like implants and orthodontics.
In her spare time, Nicole like to go to the gym, where she weight trains and does yoga. She also enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog and eating the occasional cake!

Nicole joined Barker Dental Care in 2017, and has been a dental nurse for 12 years, qualifying in 2013.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Nicole has a passion for gardening with her husband, growing their own fruit and vegetables!
Charlotte Mitchell Trainee Dental Nurse
Charlotte joined Barker Dental Care in November 2023. This is Charlotte’s second practice that she has worked at whilst pursuing her dental nurse career.
Charlotte is due to complete her Dental Nursing Qualification at the end of 2024.
In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys socialising with her friends and going to the gym.
Fiona Bevis Head Receptionist

Fiona has been Head Receptionist, and dental nursing for 44 years.
Joining Barker Dental Care in 1997, Fiona enjoys taking care of all patients.
In her spare time, Fiona’s passion is singing – Belonging to a local ladies choir called “The Solent Singers”.
Fiona also enjoys cooking, swimming and walking.
Karen Dental Receptionist
Karen has been a dental receptionist for 16 years, joining Barker Dental Care 8 years ago.
In that time, Karen has got to know a lot of patients, building up a great rapport with them.
In her spare time, Karen enjoys gardening, and spending time with her granddaughter.
